Dr. Abhishek Gulia
Post-MD from PGI Chandigarh, Dr. Abhishek Gulia worked at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute Delhi, Max Cancer Centre Saket Delhi, and now at Jaypee Hospital NoIDA. The department has a state-of-the-art TruBeam STx LINAC radiation therapy machine.
At Jaypee, we have treated more than a hundred cases with SRS and more than 250 cases with the SBRT technique.
We register a total of 1500 new patients in the department annually. On average, 40–50 patients undergo external beam radiation therapy each day for a variety of therapeutic and palliative indications, while 2–4 brachytherapy insertions are performed each week.
Dr. Abhishek Gulia has worked and trained in hospitals where almost all the latest advancements have been made, including advanced radio-therapeutic techniques like IMRT, IGRT, VMAT/Rapid Arc, stereotactic radiosurgery, and interstitial brachytherapy, in addition to conventional irradiation techniques.
Dr. Abhishek further refined his skills in IMRT, IGRT, & stereotactic radiosurgery and various motion management techniques on the VARIAN EDGE stereotactic system, quipped with Calypso for motion management, under Prof. Carlo Greco and Prof. Nuno Pimental at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown Lisbon, which is a VARIAN School teaching hospital and centre of excellence for stereotactic radiotherapy in Europe.
Back from the Fellowship, I am currently practicing as a Director of Oncology at Jaypee Hospital, which is equipped with the best-in-class radiation machines and equipment.
